Poker Superstar, Phil Ivey, is now the owner of 7 WSOP Champion bracelets after winning Event #25 $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 8-or-better. It’s also his second bracelet of the 2009 World Series of Poker after having won Event #8 $2,500 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw. Ivey defeated a tough Ming Lee in heads-up play after Carlos Mortensen, 2001 Main Event Winner, was eliminated in third place.
Phil Ivey collected $220,538 for the win. Ming Lee received #136,292 for second place and Carlos Mortensen will be packing $89,342 when he returns home to Spain. Will this be the end of Ivey’s rush? Probably not, it appears he creates his own good luck by playing better than his opponents.
