Howard Lederer: Team Full Tilt Poker Player Profile
Known as “The Professor”, Howard Lederer is one of the most dedicated and encouraging poker players around today. The Team Full Tilt Player boasts a career spanning over 20 years and winnings of more than $5 million from his poker playing.
Howard Lederer began playing poker in the 80’s in the back-room of a New York chess club and was hooked from the start. From then on Lederer would play as much as 80 hours a week with his sights set on mastering the game of poker.
It wasn’t until 1987 that “The Professor” competed in his first WSOP, where he placed fifth that year. Around 1993, Lederer moved to Las Vegas where he continued an impressive winning streak taking home a Gold Bracelet in the 2000 WSOP for the $5K Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Event, then the $5 Deuce to Seven Event in the WSOP in 2001. In 2008 alone, Lederer took home $1.4 million in winnings.
Lederer, who plays exclusively at Full Tilt Poker, has written several well-known poker coaching titles including “Dead Man’s Hand” and “Little Green Book”. His contributions also include the poker video series, “Secrets of No-Limit Hold ‘em” and co-hosting duties on “Poker Superstars” and “Learn from the Pros”.
