Starting on February 15th, Bodog Poker will give players the chance to win tickets for some of the hottest sports events on the world with the new Ultimate Sports Fan Experience promotion.

The promotion will run from February 15th to March 14th, 2010, and is open to all players. Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier takes the 2009 WPT Player of the Year Award

French poker pro and member of Team Pokerstars.com, Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier is closing a remarkable performance at the World Poker Tour season VII by taking the prestigious WPT Player of the Year Award. Elky began his way to the Winning the Player of the Year Award after taking the $15,000 buy in Festa al Lago World Poker Tour event in October, 2008. This victory earned him over $1.4 million and 1000 Player of the Year points. Only a few months later he made a deep run in the WPT LA Poker Classic finishing 32nd place for $38,085. Going into final event of the year, Elky needed to finish at least in 4th place or better to win Player of the Year. During the $25,000 WPT World Championship held in April at the Bellagio, Grospellier managed to make another final table before going out in 3rd. At the end he earned $776,245 and added another 600 points, enough for taking the 2009 WPT Player of the Year with a total of 1600 points, 200 points more than the 2nd place finisher John Phan.

Grospellie’s total winnings at the moment sum more than $5.7 million, the former Starcraft player began his highly successful poker career in 2005 after finishing in 9th place at the EPT French Open, followed by several cash outs at top class tournaments including the European Poker Tour, World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker. Grospellier’s resume includes two victories at the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, one at the 2008 High Roller Event for a whopping $433,500 and another at the 2008 Main Event in where he took the $2,000,000 prize. He also went on to finish 4th at the 2009 NBC National Heads Up Championship. Grospellier also holds a Guinness World Record for most online Single Table Sit and Go Tournaments played in one hour with a total of 62, as well as a record for becoming the first player to reach the Supernova and Supernova Elite status on Pokerstars.com, which gave him more notoriety and a lucrative contract with the site.

With all of these great achievements and victories, Elky has made clear that he has the capability to transfer his exceptional skills to the poker tables and proved that has the ambition and the ability to take a spot among the best players in the world.
